Cash Plays
Jameer Nelson ($5,600) – Nelson played great yet again last night, posting his 5th straight game with 30+ fantasy points. The nuggets will be on the second night of a back-to-back, but it’s hard to fade Nelson based off of his recent consistency and the great matchup against a Brooklyn team who is last in the league in defending against the point guard.
Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,800) – Prior to his mediocre performance against the Clippers going into the All-Star break Hardaway Jr. posted 25+ fantasy points in 5 out of 6 games. With Dennis Schroder out tonight Hardaway Jr. should get a lot more usage and should easily exceed value.
TJ Warren ($5,000) – Warren had to split time with P.J. Tucker for much of this year. But with Tucker now traded to Toronto, Warren is free to have the majority of the Suns SF minutes. His inconsistency is definitely still there, but he should easily exceed his $5,000 price tag tonight.
Dario Saric ($6,200) – Dario Saric is currently the man in Philadephia. With the departures of Ilyasova and Noel more minutes will be given to Saric, who had already been playing at a ridiculous rate going into the All-Star break. Expect Saric to be heavily owned and continue his dominance against a Washington team that doesn’t defend particularly well against the power forward.
Jahlil Okafor ($4,500) – Okafor should also benefit with all of the recent moves in the Sixers frontcourt. With Embiid still out, Okafor is just about the only guy Philadelphia has to take up those minutes. Expect him to be heavily owned tonight and a great cash game pickup against the Wizards.
GPP Plays
Yogi Ferrell ($5,500) – The Mavericks recently waived Deron Williams, opening up space for Ferrell to be their new starting PG. His recent games have been fairly average after an insane start to February. Ferrell has shown that he has crazy upside and with the minutes there for him I think he’s a good call tonight against a Timberwolves team that is middle of the road when it comes to defending the guard positions.
Demar Derozan ($8,100) – Demar’s price is relatively low for his usual production, mainly because of his streak of subpar games heading into break. Because of this, people may fade him. But keep in mind he also torched the Celtics the last time he got the chance to play against them, putting up 41 points and 13 rebounds for an insane 59.6 fantasy points.
Brandon Ingram ($3,600) – With the recent trade of Lou Williams the Lakers are going to need some guys to step up and take on those minutes. Though there are a few options to choose from, I think 19 year old Brandon Ingram will see some increased run and more opportunities on offense. He’s still a bit risky, but for his price he’s a solid GPP play.
Nikola Jokic ($10,900) – Jokic disappointed last night after being in our cash game picks. But because I think more people are going to be hesitant to start him, he is one of the best GPP plays of the night in my opinion. It’s also hard to deny the fact that he has potentially the best matchup out of any of the PF tonight when he gets to take on Brooklyn.
Steven Adams ($6,000) – Steven Adams gets a great matchup tonight against a Laker team that is in the bottom 3 in defending against the center. Despite this, I don’t expect his own % to be to high as I think more people will reach up at center or go for a high value play. If you’re looking for a middle priced center and a little more variation I suggest Adams.
