Joey Gallo

Gallo and the Rangers are in an excellent spot this afternoon against Ian Kennedy and the Royals. Arlington will be hot and the balls will be flying. Gallo has an awesome low risk – high reward spot today, where he should be hitting in the meat of the lineup (4th-6th). If Gallo’s poor average steers you away from Cash games, give him a deserving spot in a chunk of GPP lineups.

Nomar Mazar

Mazara is more of a cash play due to his consistency. But he is a great play for the same reasons as Gallo. Expect Mazara to hit clean up for the Rangers today, where he should have plenty of opportunities to hit guys in. P.S – A Rangers stack isn’t the worst idea for the early slate…

Nicholas Castellanos

Castellanos and the Tigers find themselves in a great match-up against the south-paw, Hector Santiago of the White Sox. Santiago posts an underwhelming ERA of 5.17 so far this year and doesn’t look to bring that number down too much today. Tigers right-handed bats are a great bunch to stack in your early only lineups today.

Max Scherzer

Scherzer is the guy to pick in cash games tonight. He has arguably been the best pitcher in baseball this year and has a dream matchup against the Marlins at their friendly pitching ballpark in Miami. Max is a -270 favorite from vegas tonight, which is the best favorite of the night so far. He should be able to mow down the marlins hitters, in which should be an easy win.

James Paxton

Paxton is a perfect GPP pitcher on the night. He could be overlooked a bit, while presenting minimum risk. Like Max, Paxton is a huge favorite tonight in a low projected total. We have seen a couple times where Paxton can absolutely light up the stage. He has a 16 strikeout game AND a no-hitter so far this year already. In a favorable matchup at home against the Twins, I will be getting my Paxton exposure tonight.

Ross Stripling

Stripling is very under the radar tonight on this big MLB slate. He is another pitcher in a fantastic position, at home against the Padres, one of the worst hitting teams in baseball. This game presents a low total and a high favorite in Stripling just like the previous two pitchers I mentioned. Stripling makes for an awesome GPP pick just like Paxton. He is a whomping $6,700 over on FanDuel, which opens up tons of salary for power bats in your lineup. Stripling is coming off of back to back awesome games and I don’t see a different result tonight against the AAA SD Padres.
