Cash Plays

Cory Joseph ($4,400) – Joseph once again did not disappoint last night as he got the spot start for the injured Kyle Lowry. With Lowry set to have wrist surgery tomorrow, the sky is the limit for young Cory Joseph. In his last 2 games starting he has seen 30+ minutes and put up at least 25 fantasy points in both. The Knicks are pretty good when it comes to defending the point, but given the current situation with Lowry and Joseph’s low price tag he is a must start tonight in cash games.

Demar DeRozan ($8,500) – Kyle Lowry has officially been ruled out tonight as the Raptors take on the Knicks in Madison Square Garden. New York is in the bottom 6 this year defending the SG position and when DeRozan got the chance to face off with them earlier this year in Toronto he put up 34 fantasy points through only 3 quarters of action. If the Knicks can keep this one close, DeRozan could be in for a huge game. At the very least, he should reach value for your lineup

Andrew Wiggins ($8,600) – Wiggins has stepped up big with Zach LaVine out and has arguably been the most consistent player in the league over the last month, averaging 29 points a game to go along with 4 rebounds. In terms of fantasy, he has put up 9 straight games of 30+ fantasy points. Tonight he gets to matchup against a Kings team that has been struggling to defend the SF position recently as they try to figure out life without DeMarcus Cousins. Expect Wiggins to continue his hot stretch of February when he takes the court tonight.

Dario Saric ($7,000) – Fanduel finally caught up with Saric’s price tag, raising it to $7,000 for tonight’s tilt against the Warriors. The raise in price shouldn’t be enough to draw you away from the young power forward, though, as he has put up at least 34 fantasy points in each of his last 6 games. Philadelphia against Golden State obviously has blowout potential, but the Sixers will rely heavily on Saric to try and keep the game close. The Warriors are actually not superb when it comes to defending the power forward position so Saric should easily reach value and hit in the mid-30s for your lineup.

Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,600) – I apologize for adding another high-priced cash game play, but I can’t pass up writing on KAT tonight as he squares off with a Sacramento team that has absolutely no one to compete with him. The size difference he has on Willie Cauley-Stein and clear advantage against Kosta Koufos tell me Towns is in for a big game. The man has been on an absolute tear of late, posting 40+ fantasy points in 13 of his last 14 games. It may be a little difficult to squeeze him into your lineup, but if you can, definitely reach up for KAT.

GPP Plays

Derrick Rose ($6,100) – Derrick Rose was our GPP point guard on Saturday and had a decent game against the 76ers. Tonight, he faces a Toronto team that will be without Kyle Lowry and have been struggling to defend the point guard position lately, as they are near the bottom of the league over their last 10 games. Also keep in mind that the Knicks waived Brandon Jennings early Monday morning, opening up more minutes for Derrick Rose. He usually sees minutes in the mid-30s but he may even see upwards of 40 tonight as New York attempts to figure out their backcourt.

Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,500) – Hardaway Jr. has had a rough couple of games since the all-star break. This is great news for your tournament lineup as his price continues to drop and people steer clear of him. If Avery Bradley comes back tonight he could give Hardaway some trouble, adding to his risk. If Bradley does not return, however, expect Hardaway to have his way with a Celtics defense that is in the bottom 3 in the league defending the SG position over their last 5 games. He should have no trouble reaching value for your GPP lineup tonight and offers great upside.

Harrison Barnes ($6,100) – With a lot of big name small forwards taking the floor tonight, most will probably go with one of them and a value play to compliment it. This leaves middle-priced guys like Harrison Barnes with low ownership. Considering Barnes is the Mavericks #1 option, he should have no problem scoring tonight against a Miami defense that allows the 6^th most points per game to opposing teams.

James Johnson ($6,100) – Johnson has been a little inconsistent as of late, posting 2 games with less than 20 fantasy points over his last 3. Tonight, he faces off with a tough Dallas frontcourt that just recently acquired Nerlens Noel. Johnson may have his work cut out for him but he his low ownership tonight will make him a great tournament play.

Al Horford ($6,100) – Horford’s lack of production has finally caught up to him on Fanduel as he is now listed at only $6,100. He hasn’t shown anything of late to suggest he can put up huge numbers, but a revenge game may be in order for him as he gets to take on his former team, the Atlanta Hawks. If you’re looking for a risky, middle-priced center for your GPP lineup I highly recommend plugging Horford in.

Cash Plays

Cory Joseph ($4,200) – Kyle Lowry is technically considered a game time decision tonight, but the team has already announced he is out indefinitely with a sore wrist. That being said, there have been a couple instances in which we’ve seen Joseph get the start when Lowry sits, and he hasn’t disappointed. He filled in nicely against the Celtics on Friday and Fanduel still hasn’t raised his price past $4,200. Joseph will be highly owned and should have no issues reaching value tonight against the Blazers.

Demar DeRozan ($8,600) – Sticking with the Raptors guards, the next player on everyone’s radar should be Demar DeRozan. For the same reason as Joseph, DeRozan should be in just about everyone’s lineups tonight. He gets an insane amount of usage anytime Lowry doesn’t play, and that proved to be true against Boston when he dropped 53.5 fantasy points. Fanduel did slightly raise his price since Friday night, but the $8,600 price tag shouldn’t be enough to scare anyone away. DeRozan needs around 40 to reach value, and he should have no trouble doing that tonight when he faces off with Portland.

Andre Roberson ($4,500) – Roberson has proven to be more consistent of late, posting 20+ fantasy points in 6 of his last 7 games. On Friday he stepped up against LA with Victor Oladipo out, putting up 30.9 fantasy points. Tonight he gets a decent matchup against a Pelican team that is still figuring things out with new acquisition DeMarcus Cousins. With Oladipo still sidelined tonight, he should easily hit in the low 20’s and reach value for your team.

Anthony Davis ($9,900) – The DeMarcus Cousins trade has done little to halt Davis’s production. In the 2 games with Cousins as a Pelican Davis has still been able to put up 46.3 and 59.8 fantasy points. The most intriguing part, however, is that he is still priced under $10,000 headed into tonight’s matchup with OKC. Steven Adams should be occupied covering Boogie, leaving guys like Taj Gibson, Domantas Sabonis, and Enes Kanter to guard Davis, all matchups he should feast on.

Jusuf Nurkic ($5,500) – Portland went and got Nurkic for a reason. With no one physical in their frontcourt, Nurkic can be that tough big down low for them. In his first 2 games with the team he has put up 28.1 and 40.9 fantasy points. He got the start against Orlando on Thursday and played 34 minutes. Tonight, he should draw another start against the Raptors and see over 30 minutes yet again. His price has been raised a bit but he should have no problem getting 25-30 fantasy points and reaching value for your lineup.

GPP Plays

George Hill ($6,100) – With most people probably buying up at one of their PG positions to go along with Cory Joseph, many of the middle priced guys will be overlooked. This is great news for guys like George Hill when it comes to GPP games, being that he’s an inconsistent player with some great upside on certain nights. With his own % likely to be low tonight you should definitely consider Hill as one of your tournament point guards. He doesn’t have the easiest matchup going up against John Wall who is a great individual defender, but the Wizards have been struggling as a team lately when it comes to defending the point.

Alex Abrines ($3,600) – Abrines may be fairly owned since news on Oladipo has already been released. But considering no one really thinks of Abrines as being particularly consistent, he’s still a tournament play in my mind. With Oladipo out on Friday Abrines got the start and saw 29 minutes. OKC will be going up against a New Orleans team that typically defends the SG position well, but have been struggling of late as they rank in the bottom 8 in defensive efficiency against the position in their last 10 games.

Otto Porter ($6,300) – The SF position is rather bland this Sunday, leading most people to probably target some value plays in order to buy up for a guy like Westbrook. Because of this, middle-priced guys like Otto Porter can greatly benefit. Porter does not necessarily have a favorable matchup tonight against a defensive minded Jazz team. This, mixed with his low own %, makes him a risky, but good, tournament play.

Nikola Jokic ($9,800) – If you’re looking for a risky GPP play tonight, look no further than Nikola Jokic. His last 2 games have lowered his price to a reasonable $9,800, but in both of those games he posted 18 fantasy points, which isn’t exactly great numbers for a guy who is priced as a superstar. Tonight he matches up against a Grizzlies team that is generally great at defending the power forward and center positions, something that will more than likely draw people away from his name, making him a great GPP option.

Steven Adams ($6,300) –Adams made it into my GPP picks 2 nights ago against a bad Laker defense. Tonight, he gets a little tougher of a matchup against Boogie Cousins and the New Orleans Pelicans. Adams is a consistent guy who will generally get you 25 fantasy points a game (he has 8 straight of at least 25+). But he has shown that he has GPP upside, like on Friday when he put up 43 fantasy points against Los Angeles. Tonight, I think his low ownership is what makes him a great GPP play, as he could easily slide under the radar and help your lineup get to the top.

Cash Plays

 Kyrie Irving ($8,900) – Kyrie has now strung together 8 straight games of 30+ fantasy points. Tonight he gets a good matchup against the bulls who are on the second night of a back-to-back and are in the bottom 10 in the league in defending against the point. Also keep in mind LeBron is questionable tonight. Kyrie is already a great start, but if James sits out, expect him to be the most owned player on the slate.

Dion Waiters ($7,300) – Waiters couldn’t find his stroke last night, going 6-19 from the field en route to a win over the Hawks. Despite his poor shooting, Waiters still managed 36.6 fantasy points, giving him 7 straight games with at least 30+. Tonight he gets a good matchup against a Pacers team that is in the bottom half of the league when it comes to guarding the SG position. Waiters should see no problem reaching value with his guaranteed 30+ minutes and involvement in the Heat offense.

Andre Iguodala ($4,400) – Kevin Durant has already been ruled out tonight against the Nets, opening the door for Iguodala to get a start. Iggy has proved to be more consistent recently, scoring 20+ fantasy points in 4 of his last 5. He usually gets 25-30 minutes a game, so he won’t see an insane jump against Brooklyn tonight. However, Golden State will probably have to call his number to help a little more on the offensive end, making him a great start for his $4,400 price tag.

Dario Saric ($5,700) – Fanduel is a little slow in raising Saric’s price tag, something we should all be taking advantage of. Last night he showed off just about every aspect of his game, posting 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 4 assists. He had seen his minutes slowly rising throughout the year, but with most of Philly’s front court now traded away, he’s a lock for 30 minutes a night. He has a fantastic matchup tonight against the Knicks who will be without Kristaps Porzingis and are in the bottom 3 over their last 10 games defending the power forward position.

Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,300) – Looking at the slate, it seems KAT may be the star to buy up for tonight. He has shown insane consistency over his last 13 games, posting at least 40 fantasy points in 12 of them. His time on the court is also consistent, as he is 7^th in the league averaging 36.5 minutes per game. These two factors make Towns a very reliable option at center. Tonight he faces a Houston team that has been struggling against the big man, as they are 2^nd to last over their last 10 games defending the center position.

GPP Plays

Derrick Rose ($6,400) – With a few higher priced names and consistent options above him I expect many people to pass on Rose tonight. It may be a little awkward in New York after the Knicks were actively trying to trade him over the all-star break, but that doesn’t mean he can’t help your GPP lineup get to the top. The minutes are still there for him and over the last month there have been a few instances in which he’s shown he can still produce at a very high rate. If you’re looking for a middle-priced option with a good matchup, Rose is your guy.

Kyle Korver ($4,500) – Kyle Korver has consistent minutes, but not always consistent production. LeBron missed shoot around this morning and, if he is unable to go, the scoring load will have to be picked up throughout the Cavs lineup. His price is low enough to not be a crazy option and even if James does play, Korver still has the potential to put up big numbers at a very low own %. He should be a strong consideration in GPP lineups.

Paul George ($8,100) – Tonight Paul George is considered a game time-decision, though he did state he would play. Most people will end up scrolling right past him, considering that yellow “GTD” badge next to his name isn’t the most appealing thing. He has some head-scratcher type games, but obviously has the scoring potential to be a backbone of your lineup. George should be another guy on this slate that has a low own % and can definitely fit nicely into GPP games.

Ryan Anderson ($4,800) – The recent trade has changed the dynamic of the Houston backcourt as the Rockets attempt to divide minutes between their guards. In the frontcourt, however, things are relatively the same for Ryan Anderson and company. He should continue to see his 30+ minutes a game and offers great scoring potential. He gets a good matchup tonight against the Timberwolves who have been struggling to defend the PF position over their last 10 games. Anderson also terrorized the Wolves in their 2 meetings earlier this season, posting games of 41.2 and 34.4 fantasy points.

Kyle O’Quinn ($4,700) – With Kristaps Porzingis out tonight there are minutes up for grabs for the Knicks big men. Most people will probably flock to Willie Hernangomez for their lineups, but O’Quinn is also a lock to see some added run tonight. He doesn’t offer the kind of consistency we would want out of him for cash games, but he is a great GPP pivot tonight as he will probably see 25+ minutes against a feeble Philadephia frontcourt.
