6-13-16 Slugger of the Day

Tonight I’m going with a guy who seems to be getting back to his old self. This guy is Jose Abreu. He draw a great lefty vs. righty matchup tonight against Matt Boyd. Boyd is very inexperienced and hasn’t impressed me enough to not ride Abreu’s hot streak. Abreu is 14 for his last 39 (.359 avg.) in his last 10 games. Out of those 10 games, he has 6 multi-hit games which shows me that he is seeing the ball very well. There are a couple other good first base options tonight, but Abreu is my favorite out of the bunch. Lock him in.

Longoria had a solid 12 points in last slugger of the day. However, I wish I didn’t fade Bryant who ended up getting 20+ points. Tonight I’m rolling with a very obvious pick in Matt Carpenter. Whenever Simon is on the mound, I am immediately targeting players who are against him. Carpenter should be the biggest beneficiary out of the bunch tonight. Expect him to score you a couple runs and an extra-base hit or two for you tonight. Lock him in.

Harper played well yesterday going 3-5, unfortunately he had no extra base hits. Today I’m rolling with arguably the hottest hitter in baseball in Evan Longoria. Longoria just won A.L player of the week due to his absolute outstanding performance at the plate recently. He absolutely demolished the Twins in their 4 game series and has no reason to not keep that going tonight against Robby Ray in a friendly hitting park in Arizona. Longoria also hits lefties very well and Ray has been pretty below average so far this year. Over the last 10 games, Longoria is 16-39 which is a .410 batting average. Not to mention he has 6 HR’s in that span with 5 of those 6 being in the last 4 games. Lock in Longoria and look for him to get you a satisfying number of points.

I think today, the slugger is a no brainer. I’m rolling with Bryce Harper at a disrespectful price of $4,000. He is facing Jon Moscot who really should be a bullpen pitcher or in AAA because he has been absolutely awful. He sports a 7.13 ERA and that might honestly go up after facing the tough Nationals lineup at the friendly-hitting Great American Ball-Park. Now I know that Harper has been slumping lately, but he has a perfect matchup today to break out and go deep. I’m solely picking Harper because it’s greatness vs. Moscot. Whenever a player at the talent level is facing a guy like Moscot, I’m most likely 100% in. Enjoy Harper at $4,000 today. Moscot is as talented as a mascot. You might as well have Mr. Red on the mound today in full uniform.

6-1-16 Slugger of the Day

We are starting off June with a bit of a wild card slugger in Giancarlo Stanton today but I’m confident for a couple of reasons. Stanton has been pretty bad this year and unlike his normal self, however, reports say that his side was bothering him and leading to his poor play. He just recently got off of the DL and is looking to bring his surging numbers back to the table. What a great way to regain that confidence by facing a guy like Jon Niese at home where he is batting 12-29 against him with FOUR homers. If Stanton is going to get back to his old self, it’s tonight. This game also draws my attention with an 8.5 total which predicts a high scoring game. Stanton is at a cheap $3,500 tonight and can easily power up a homerun for your fantasy squad. Lock him in and watch him get back on track.
