Cash Plays

Russell Westbrook ($12,900) – Westbrook is our cash game point guard again tonight as the Thunder head to Dallas to take on the Mavericks. He’s still priced under 13k even coming off of a 66.7 fantasy point peformance last night against the Rockets. Dallas is generally the best in the league at defending the point guard position, but they have recently been a little shaky as they have been giving up 46 fantasy points to the position over their last 10 games. However, Westbrook is fairly matchup proof, so it really doesn’t matter who he plays. Therefore, I will be looking to get Westbrook into my lineup if I have the salary for him and I recommend you do the same.

Buddy Hield ($5,400) – It took him until the 4^th quarter last night, but Buddy Hield had a good game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He posted 28.4 fantasy points in 23 minutes of action, his 4^th straight game of posting at least that many fantasy points. He’s recently been getting more involved in the Kings offense and it should be more of the same tonight against the Grizzlies. Memphis is known for their lockdown shooting guard defender Tony Allen, though they have actually been giving up the 8^th most fantasy points to the SG position in their last 10 games. Hield only needs 25-30 fantasy points to reach value, which he should easily be able to do if he’s given another 30+ minutes of court time.

Kawhi Leonard ($9,100) – Between the 2 high priced small forwards going at each other tonight I think I’m more likely to with Kawhi Leonard. Leonard and the Spurs seem to be LeBron’s kryptonite, which makes sense considering they are the 2^nd best team when it comes to fantasy points given up to opposing small forwards per game. On the other side, Kawhi will be facing a Cleveland team that gives up the 6^th most fantasy points to the position this season. Moral of the story, Leonard is in a much better position to do well tonight when they face off at the AT&T Center. He’s also almost 2k cheaper, so I highly recommend plugging Kawhi into your cash game lineup.

LaMarcus Aldridge ($7,300) – LaMarcus Aldridge has been great recently, posting 6 straight games of least 31 fantasy points since returning from an injury he suffered earlier in the month. The Cleveland/San Antonio game looks like it should be a good one to stack tonight, so I’m definitely going to be looking to get both Aldridge and Kawhi into my lineup. As previously stated, the Cavs struggle against the small forward position. However, they have given up even more fantasy points to the power forward position (47.7) over their last 5 games, which is good for 7^th worst in the league during that stretch. Aldridge only needs around 35 fantasy points to reach value tonight, which he should easily be able to do against another title contender in Cleveland.

Willy Hernangomez ($5,100) – The older of the Hernangomez brothers is coming off a great game in which he psoted 24 points and 13 rebounds in 36 minutes of action, which was good for 44.1 fantasy points. This production was largely due to Carmelo Anthony being out, which it looks like may be the case yet again tonight. In my opinion, the Knicks have no reason to even play Melo, so rushing him back from an injury seems nonsensical. Even if he does play, though, I still love Hernangomez at his price tag. He’s $5,100, which means he only needs around 25 fantasy points to reach value for your lineup. He’ll be going up against a Detroit Pistons team that has been struggling against centers, as they’ve given up 54 points a game to the position over their last 5 games.

GPP Plays

Reggie Jackson ($4,600) – Both the Piston’s point guards are right around the same price, but I like Jackson more in tournaments due to the fact that Ish Smith will more than likely be more popular tonight since he should draw the start. However, the one that gets the start is not always the one who finishes with the most minutes, as Stan Van Gundy generally goes with the hot hand and just keeps whichever one is playing better out on the court for that game. At $4,600 he isn’t too risky and only needs 20-25 points to reach value. He should easily be able to do this against a tanking Knicks team that has recently been struggling to defend the point guard position.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($4,400) – Caldwell-Pope is the definition of inconsistent, and I never know when to roll the dice on him. He generally sees 30+ minutes, but can dud so easily that it makes me never want to play him. His price has come down so much, however, that it’s kind of hard to completely fade him considering he has proven he has 40+ fantasy point upside. He could possibly be a popular pick tonight as he goes up against the Knicks, but his inconsistency draws me away from him in cash games. He only needs 20ish FP to reach value, though, so don’t be afraid to plug him into your GPP lineups.

Joe Johnson ($3,800) – Things are looking good for Joe Johnson tonight as the Jazz get ready to take on the Pelicans in Utah. Derrick Favors is still out and Johnson has been the main beneficiary of making up that court time. Today though, Gordon Hayward was not able to participate in morning shoot-around and is questionable to play. If Hayward does end up sitting Johnson will get a crazy amount of usage at what is almost a minimum price. Keep an eye on the Jazz’s injury report because I think Johnson could end up being a great call tonight in all formats.

Skal Labissiere ($4,700) – Labissiere got into foul trouble early last night as he went up against Blake Griffin down low. He ended up only seeing 19 minutes of action and was only able to put up 8.3 fantasy points. Tonight, he gets a matchup against a good Memphis Grizzlies team, who are generally pretty good at defending opposing power forwards. However, they have scuffling of late and are giving up 44.7 FP a game to the position over their last 10 contests. With Labissiere still priced under 5k I really like him tonight as the Kings continue to try and implement their youth movement.

Jonas Valanciunas ($5,100) – If the Raptors would give Valanciunas some more minutes he would be a really solid fantasy center. Unfortunately, he only sees 20-25 minutes a game a is priced a bit higher than I generally think he is worth. Tonight, though, he’s going up against an Orlando Magic team that gives up a lot of points to centers, specifically over their last 5 games as they’re giving up an average of 60.1 fantasy points in those contests. Priced at $5,100 he only needs 25ish fantasy points to reach value and should be able to do that against a weak Magic front court.

Cash Plays

Russell Westbrook ($12,900) – I don’t love the other options at point guard, so I’d say I’m more likely to spend up for Russell Westbrook tonight. His price has now dipped under 13k, and a matchup with James Harden and the Houston Rockets should have him see a crazy amount of usage. He hasn’t been reaching value due to the fact that the Thunder’s recent games have been blowouts. Oklahoma City will rely on Westbrook to keep this one close, however, so even if there is a blowout, Russ should have no trouble reaching value for your cash game lineup.

Josh Richardson ($4,600) – Richardson has been our cash game shooting guard quite a few times over the past week. In his last game against the Raptors he finally had a performance in which he reached his price tag, putting up 22.9 fantasy points in 35 minutes of action. However, his past performances with Waiters out were still solid, as he put up 20+ fantasy points in the 3 of those 4 games. With Waiters out again tonight Richardson will log heavy minutes. His price is still $4,600 so he only needs a little over 20 to reach value, which he should easily be able to do tonight against Boston.

Paul George ($8,800) – As expected, Jimmy Butler’s price has sky rocketed to 10k, putting him a bit out of range for cash games. The next highest priced SF, however, is Paul George, who draws a fantastic matchup tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers. In my opinion, George’s price actually doesn’t reflect his recent production, as he has scored 40+ fantasy points in 4 of his last 5 games. He should be a high owned guy tonight and is definitely a guy I am looking to work into my cash lineup.

Richaun Holmes ($5,600) – Jahlil Okafor is unlikely to play tonight against Indiana, which once again has me looking at Richaun Holmes as a cash game pick. He’s really been unspectacular in his last couple games, posting fewer than 14 fantasy points in his last 2 contests. However, his price reduction and skill set still has him in my cash game radar if Okafor sits. When Jahlil has sat previously this year Holmes has seen a significant boost in usage, and it should be more of the same tonight against Indiana. Of course, make sure Okafor is out before plugging Holmes into your lineup.

DeAndre Jordan ($7,900) – DeAndre Jordan has been a very consistent play over the last few weeks, consistently posting 30+ fantasy points. He’s beating up the frontcourt of countless NBA teams and gets a chance to do this yet again tonight as he goes up against a weak Sacramento Kings defense. He’s simply overpowering to Willie Cauley-Stein and Kosta Koufos and should be able to feast tonight against them. At under 8k still I really like Jordan tonight and think he should easily be able to put up 35-40 fantasy points out of the center position.

GPP Plays

TJ McConnell ($5,500) – This is definitely a roll of the dice play considering you never really know when McConnell will really have game/passing going on a given night. But, at $5,500 it’s hard to not consider him in tournaments when he has 30+ fantasy point upside, which he’s shown twice in his last 3 games. He’s playing good basketball and I think has a good shot of continuing his hot streak tonight as the Sixers take on the Indiana Pacers. If you’re looking for a reach down, middle-priced point guard as you make your tournament lineup I highly suggest considering McConnell.

J.J. Redick ($4,300) – Redick is a bit streaky at times. But, with his price down around 4k and the fact that he can score 25+ points if he has his shot going I really like him night to night in tournaments. He is the beneficiary of a matchup tonight with the Sacramento Kings, a tanking team that gives up quite a lot of points. Considering there will be a lot of scoring, I don’t mind plugging in potentially the best shooter on the court in J.J. Redick. He’s so low priced that there isn’t a ton of risk, and he carries amazing upside for a guy with his scoring ability.

Jimmy Butler ($10,000) – With both Russell Westbrook and James Harden in play tonight I don’t see many people trying to fit Jimmy Butler into their lineups. He’s now priced at 10k and is just a bit over priced for me in cash games. However, that shouldn’t take him out of GPP play when you consider the fact that he still has to shoulder the scoring load with Wade out for the year. He can easily get you 60+ fantasy points, which he was able to do just last game against the Milwaukee Bucks. If you decide to fade Harden and Westbrook, Butler is the obvious choice to turn to and could make for a sneaky play in tournaments.

Enes Kanter ($6,000) – Kanter just doesn’t see enough minutes to be a cash game play, but he has proven he has the production to still be a GPP pick. Just last game he posted 24 points and 11 rebounds in just 20 minutes of action. This was his 2nd straight double-double and was good for 41.2 fantasy points. Tonight, he gets a matchup with the Houston Rockets, who will already be a bit short with Ryan Anderson out. Kanter should be able to exploit their weak spots in what I expect to be a high intensity game.

Clint Capela ($5,700) – Opposite Enes Kanter and the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight will be Clint Capela of the Houston Rockets. Capela has now strung together 3 straight solid games, all of which he put up at least 29 fantasy points. He consistently flirts with double-doubles and I think has a great shot at another one tonight as he matches up with Steven Adams down low. The high paced game should allow him to see quite a few more alley-oop opportunities as well, so he has potential on both ends of the court tonight. If you’re looking for a tournament center priced under 6k then Capela is your guy.

Cash Plays

Damian Lillard ($9,600) – There’s a smaller slate tonight, so there’s essentially an argument to be made for any player as a cash game play. This is particularly prevalent at the point guard position with multiple stars going. However, my point guard pick for the night is going to be Damian Lillard. Lillard has been on an absolute tear lately, posting at least 40 fantasy points in 7 of his last 8 games. He’ll be facing a Minnesota defense that gives up roughly 47 fantasy points a game to the point guard position, so he’s in a good position to continue his hot streak tonight at home.

Courtney Lee ($4,500) – Personally, I will be reaching down at shooting guard tonight. It doesn’t seem like a position where I need to pay 8k for a guy that may only get me 20 fantasy points, so I’m going to be targeting value plays, and Courtney Lee is first on my list. Both Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony are questionable tonight with injuries, and when both of them sat out last game Lee saw 40+ minutes. If one or both of them are out again tonight it should be more of the same for the 31-year-old shooting guard, making him a great call as a cash game play. Even if both of the Knicks stars do play, however, I still like Lee at his price point. A matchup with the Spurs will likely draw people away from him, though it’s important to note that San Antonio actually has trouble guarding the shooting guard position, as they’ve given up the 6^th most fantasy points to the position over their last 10 games. Lee only needs a little over 20 FP to reach value and he should easily be able to do that given all the positive factors he has going for him tonight.

Andrew Wiggins ($7,000) – With LeBron and Melo both game time decisions, along with the fact the Spurs will likely blow the Knicks out with all of their injuries, my cash game pick is going to fall squarely on the shoulders of Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins was in our picks last night as a GPP play, and he didn’t disappoint. He put up 47 fantasy points in 44 minutes of action against the Lakers. His solid game will likely make him a popular pick tonight as he goes up against the Trail Blazers. Portland has been struggling against small forwards, giving up the 8^th most fantasy points to the position over their last 5 games. With his price still down at 7k I think Wiggins is a fantastic play against them as he should easily get you 35 fantasy points.

Noah Vonleh ($3,800) – With another solid performance last night, Noah Vonleh has catapulted himself straight from GPP to cash game consideration. In his last 5 games he’s seeing an average of 28.4 minutes per game to go along with 21.3 fantasy points during that stretch. For a guy almost at minimum price, that’s great production and definitely something I’m going to want exposure to in my cash game lineup. He’ll be going up against the Timberwolves, who are middle-of-the-road when it comes to containing power forwards. Given that he should see another start tonight, I really like him in all formats and suggest you get him into your lineups.

Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,400) – Towns was our cash game center last night, as he put up 51.6 fantasy points in an overtime win against the Lakers. Personally, I love playing his kid because he’s never let me down. He consistently gets you 40+ fantasy points and carries the upside for 60+ on certain nights. That kind of consistency is exactly what you want in cash game picks, and that is why he’s on my cash game radar yet again today. Towns has basically shown he’s matchup-proof, which means he’s really a great pick no matter who he plays. Although, it doesn’t hurt that he’ll be going up against a Portland defense that has been weak at guarding the big man position all year.

GPP Plays

Cory Joseph ($4,800) – Joseph has just been too inconsistent to be a cash game play every night. However, he has shown some spurts of great play, which makes him a great call tonight as a GPP point guard since his price is down under 5k. Unfortunately, Dallas is great at defending the point guard position. However, I just look at this as another reason why he shouldn’t be too owned. He’ll see 30+ minutes again tonight so he really shouldn’t have an issue scoring 20+ FP. If you want to reach down at point guard I think Joseph is your guy.

Seth Curry ($5,300) – I’m going to stick with the Dallas/Toronto game for my GPP shooting guard pick and go with Seth Curry of the Dallas Mavericks. He seems to have bounced back from an awful week by putting up 23 points last night against the Clippers. His price dropped and he’s now closer to 5k than 6k. I think he’s another cheap option in tournaments that allows you to reach up for lesser-owned stars at another position. Toronto is great at defending the shooting guard position, though, so he’ll have his work cut out for him.

Otto Porter ($5,800) – Porter hasn’t been good over the last week, as he hasn’t scored more than 18 fantasy points in his last 3 games. A matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers is also likely to scare people away from him tonight. However, the Cavs actually have a difficult time containing small forwards. They’ve given up the 6^th most fantasy points all year to the position and I actually think Porter is in a great position to do well against them tonight. The Wizards are currently chasing Cleveland in the Eastern Conference standings, so the game should have some good intensity and offer plenty of fantasy points to the sharp-shooting Porter.

Markieff Morris ($6,000) – I’m going to pick on the Cavs again and go with Markieff Morris as my GPP power forward. Cleveland has been absolutely awful against opposing power forwards recently, giving up 53.1 fantasy points a game to the position over their last 5 contests. This is good for 4^th worst in the league over that stretch, and I think Morris is in a fantastic position to keep that bad streak going for them. Given all the factors, it’s kind of hard for me to imagine he doesn’t get 30 fantasy points tonight for your tournament lineup, so I highly recommend plugging him in.

Tristan Thompson ($5,000) – It should be another night in which the Wizards have absolutely no idea how to contain the center they’re facing, which just so happens to be Tristan Thompson. The rebound monster hasn’t been great lately, but the fact that he’s going up against a defense that has given up 53.9 fantasy points a game to opposing centers in their last 10 contests is just too much against them not to go with Thompson tonight. Even if he gets me half of that (right around 27) I’m still going to be happy and he’s still going to have reached value. I think he has some insane upside tonight and is definitely a guy I recommend having a lot of exposure to in tournaments.

Cash Plays

Ricky Rubio ($7,400) – As much as I love Tyler Ulis again in cash games, I will refrain from writing about him for the 3^rd time in 4 days. Ricky Rubio, on the other hand, is another cash game pick I like tonight as he goes up against the Los Angeles Lakers, a team that has been giving up 60 fantasy points to point guards over their last 5 games. This is by far the most fantasy points given up to the position over that stretch and Ricky Rubio is in a great position to keep their bad streak going. At $7,400 he needs 35-40 FP to reach value and should definitely be able to do that, making him a very safe cash game play tonight.

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($10,300) – Giannis is coming off a great last game in which he put up 62.6 fantasy points over 40 minutes of action against the Sacramento Kings. As bad as the Kings are, Antetokounmpo actually has a better matchup tonight against a team that has been giving up even more fantasy points to the PG/SG position over their 5 games: the Atlanta Hawks. Giannis is in a great position to have another great game and should be fairly owned. I recommend considering him in cash games tonight as he faces off with the Hawks at home.

Thabo Sefolosha ($3,900) – Both Millsap and Kent Bazemore have been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Bucks, so Thabo Sefolosha is expected to get another spot start for the Atlanta Hawks. He’s filled in quite nicely while the two have been out, seeing right around 30 minutes a game and averaging close to 26 fantasy points. Considering he’s priced under 4k, this is great production from a value type player. I’m surprised his price is still so low but will definitely be taking advantage of it tonight. Milwaukee has given up the 4^th most fantasy points a game to small forwards this season (43.5), so he’s in a fantastic position to produce tonight for your cash game lineup.

Marquese Chriss ($5,000) – Given his recent production, I have absolutely no idea why Marquese’s price is even close to 5k, let alone right at it. The kid has scored 25+ fantasy points in each of his last 5 games and has a great matchup tonight against the Celtics. Boston has been giving up the 7^th most fantasy points to the power forward position over their last 10 games (48.2), and Chriss only needs 25 to reach value tonight. He’s starting and seeing well over 30 minutes a game, so make sure to plug him into your lineups tonight and watch him go to work.

Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,400) – KAT is always one of my favorite guys to reach up for because he’s really never given me a bad fantasy performance. And considering he’s facing the Lakers on Friday night, he’s definitely in a great spot to have another outstanding game. He had a nice 22 point/12 rebound double-double the last time he faced them, and he’ll have the same kinds of opportunities tonight. He should get right around 50 fantasy points as he looks to outscore and outrebound the Lakers frontcourt.

GPP Plays

Dennis Schroder ($7,000) – Schroder and the Hawks will be in Milwaukee tonight to take on the Bucks, a team that has recently been surging and is now only a game behind them in the Eastern Conference standings. Considering this game has playoff implications, I think both teams will come out strong and I expect it to be a physical game. The Hawks will need Schroder to be on his game and run the floor like a true floor general. I think he’ll be up for the task and he should be able to easily reach his price tag while also offering significant 40+ fantasy point upside.

Avery Bradley ($6,500) – I expect most people’s attention to be on a lot of players in the Phoenix/Boston game, though I don’t think Avery Bradley is one of those players. At $6,500 he seems a bit over-priced and I don’t think to many people will target him considering he doesn’t really have the consistency you want from a player. However, as far as tournaments go, he is a great call and brings some nice upside considering he sees minutes in the high 30’s. The Suns are middle-of-the-road when it comes to guarding the SG position, so Bradley should have ample opportunities to expose their weak spots and do well tonight at TD Garden.

Andrew Wiggins ($7,000) – Wiggins is my favorite call in GPP games tonight as he goes up against a weak Lakers defense. Los Angeles has been giving up 53.6 fantasy points a game to opposing small forwards over their last 5 games, which is by far the most over that stretch. In his only game against the Lakers this year Wiggins put up 47 points (career high) and 56.3 fantasy points in 41 minutes of action. Wiggins obviously handles the Lakers well and I think it should be more of the same tonight as he faces off with them at the Staples Center.

Aaron Gordon ($5,200) – Aaron Gordon is easily one of my favorite players in the league, though he’s been a bit rocky over his last few games from a fantasy perspective. Over his last 4 games he’s posted two good games of 26.6 and 29.8 fantasy points, but has also posted some duds, which consisted of 10.1 and 12.8 FP. The latter of those 2 came last game against the Hornets, so I think he is in a position for a bounce back game tonight at home against the Pistons. Detroit is usually pretty good at containing power forwards, though they’ve struggled over their last 5, giving up the 12^th most fantasy points to the position in that time (45.2).

Marcin Gortat ($4,900) – Gortat has really been awful lately, posting only 1 game of 30+ fantasy points in the 16 games since the all-star break. However, his price is now under 5k to accommodate his awful play and I think he’s a great call tonight in tournaments with such a low price. He’ll be facing the Nets, who are in the bottom 5 in fantasy points given up to centers this year and a team that he can definitely use to get back on track. He’ll be starting and should see 25-30 minutes, so consider him as a low priced center option that allows you to reach up for stars at other positions.

Cash Plays

Tyler Ulis ($6,800) – The Brooklyn/Phoenix game has the highest team total tonight and will definitely be a matchup I am looking to target from a DFS perspective. Ulis had 3 straight games of at least 34+ fantasy points before having a rather low scoring night on Tuesday, putting up only 18.6 fantasy points in 42 minutes of action. However, this below average performance doesn’t draw me away from him, as he will be getting a matchup tonight against a Nets team that has given up the 2^nd most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season (52.3). With Ulis getting 90% of the Suns point guard minutes he should easily be able to put up another 30+ fantasy point performance at Barclays Center.

Josh Richardson ($4,600) – In the time Josh Richardson has filled in for the injured Dion Waiters he has been less than spectacular, posting an average of 19.3 fantasy points in those games. However, for a guy priced at $4,600 I’m not going to be mad at that kind of production. He also has huge upside considering he’s going to see another 30+ minutes tonight with Waiters still out. There’s really not a whole lot of options tonight at shooting guard so I’m more than likely going to plug Richardson in against the Raptors and watch him go to work.

Carmelo Anthony ($6,500) – I’m really not a huge Carmelo Anthony fan, but at $6,500 it’s hard to pass on him. I think he will be a cash game pick purely based off of his low price tag tonight, but he also has a great matchup against a Portland Trail Blazers team that gives up the 3^rd most points to the forward positions combined. I think Melo will be a popular pick and you can expect to be seeing him in my cash game lineup tonight.

Patrick Patterson ($3,600) – Patterson is expected to get a start tonight for Serge Ibaka, who is serving a suspension for Tuesday’s fight with Robin Lopez. Patterson will log heavy minutes tonight and get a lot of usage at what is almost a minimum price tag. He should be one of the highest owned guys tonight, though he’ll have his work cut out for him as he goes up against James Johnson and the Miami Heat, a top 5 team when it comes to containing power forwards from a fantasy perspective.

Alan Williams ($5,700) – Williams is a game time decision tonight, though he expects to play. Therefore, I am going to plan on getting him into my lineup tonight against a Nets team that is one of the worst in the league at containing opposing centers. Williams has been one of my favorite centers to roll with over the last month, and I’m looking forward to what he can do against a weak Brooklyn defense. Of course, make sure he’s playing before you lock him in.

If Williams does end up sitting, Alex Len ($5,100) is the next logical cash game center to plug into your lineup.

GPP Plays

J.J. Barea ($4,100) – J.J. Barea and the Mavericks have a matchup tonight against the Clippers in Dallas. Though the Clippers are a fairly decent team at containing point guards (which is mainly because Chris Paul is a great individual defender), I love Barea tonight. He’ll be running the 2^nd unit for the Mavs, as per usual, and that means he’ll log most of his minutes without Paul on the court. This means Los Angeles will be relying more on guys like Austin Rivers to contain Barea, which is a matchup I think he can easily exploit. With his price down around 4k I love him in tournaments and strongly recommend you consider him as well.

Courtney Lee ($4,700) – Courtney Lee has underperformed over the last week, posting less than 20 fantasy points in his last 4 games. However, his price has come down in that time and he’s in a pretty good spot to perform tonight against a Trail Blazer team that gives up 21.5 points per game to shooting guards, along with close to 40 fantasy points on average this season to the position. The game has the 2^nd highest point total for the night (218.5), so targeting a cheap shooting guard from the game is probably a good idea in GPP games.

Maurice Harkless ($3,800) – Evan Turner put up -0.8 fantasy points in 19 minutes of action on Tuesday. Though fantasy production is not always a direct consequence of the game a guy played, posting negative fantasy points is obviously never a good thing. Because of this, I don’t think the Trail Blazers are going to be too eager to give Turner minutes tonight against the Knicks, which is great news for Moe Harkless, who is now priced under 4k on Fanduel. Harkless has been seeing right around 30 minutes even with Turner back from injury, and he’s in a great position to produce tonight against a New York team that has given up the 2^nd most fantasy points to small forwards over their last 10 games (48.7).

Noah Vonleh ($3,800) – Vonleh is another Portland guy I like tonight in tournaments. He has posted 20+ FP in 3 of his last 4 games and is in a great position to do the same against the Knicks. New York has been statistically awful against power forwards this year, giving up an average of 45.5 fantasy points per game to the position. Vonleh is a great GPP punt play and should be able to put up some strong numbers at home tonight.

Jonas Valanciunas ($5,300) – Looking at the slate I personally think Valanciunas is the best GPP center play tonight as he faces the Miami Heat. The Raptors should give him a little extra run considering they’ll need his size and physicality down low against Hassan Whiteside. The matchup should pin Jonas under the rim, which should allow him to grab a few extra boards. Despite having Whiteside down low, the Heat actually give up close to 50 fantasy points a game to opposing centers, so don’t be afraid to plug Valanciunas into your tournament lineups tonight.

Cash Plays

Rajon Rondo ($5,400) – Rondo wasn’t very owned in cash games last night as he exploded for 46 fantasy points over 40 minutes. The game did go to OT, so I obviously don’t expect him to get the same amount of court time against the Pistons tonight. However, he has won his starting job back and his price is still well under 6k. For a guy that should easily get 30+ fantasy points tonight I love him in all formats. He should have high own % because of his great game last night, and he’ll be facing a Detroit team that is in the bottom 10 in the league in fantasy points allowed to point guards this season.

Gary Harris ($6,100) – I really don’t like the shooting guard position tonight as far as cash games go. The only guys really on my radar are Victor Oladipo and Gary Harris, who are both priced at $6,100. However, I’m more than likely going to go with Gary Harris since I’ve had Oladipo dud in my lineup more times than I can even count. Harris and the Nuggets will be going up against Cleveland tonight, a team that is actually bad at containing shooting guards. The Cavs have allowed the 4^th most fantasy points to the position all year and the Nuggets are definitely going to need scoring tonight. Considering that is Harris’s specialty, I don’t see him having trouble getting 30 fantasy points and reaching value for your lineup.

Jimmy Butler ($8,900) – There are a few star-caliber small forwards on the slate tonight, but I personally will probably end up plugging Jimmy Butler into my lineup. He was in our cash game plays last night and exploded for 64 fantasy points. He’s really been playing well since Wade went down with an injury, and I don’t expect to see his price under 9k for the rest of the year. I’ll be taking advantage of this and the fact that he’s facing a Detroit team that has been awful against small forwards over their last 5 games, giving up an average of 49.9 FP to the position. I like a stack of Rondo/Butler in cash games tonight.

Ersan Ilyasova ($4,500) – Paul Millsap has already been ruled for tonight’s tilt with the Wizards, so Ilyasova is expected to get another spot start. After having a great fill-in game on Saturday, Ersan came out Monday with a less than spectacular effort, posting 19.7 fantasy points in 28 minutes of action. He’s expected to get the same kind of run time tonight and he’ll be facing a Washington Wizards team that has given up the 5^th most fantasy points to power forwards this season. I expect him to easily reach value against them.

Dwight Howard ($6,800) – If you’ve been reading these articles you know I love to pick on Washington’s front court. And with Millsap out again that’s exactly what I’m going to do as Dwight Howard and the Atlanta Hawks will be in the state capitol tonight to face the Wizards. Washington has been giving up over 60 fantasy points a game to centers in their last 5 games, and no, that wasn’t a typo. He should be able to absolutely feast tonight on their weak defense and I look forward to watching it happen.

GPP Plays

John Wall ($10,000) – It’s a Russell Westbrook night, which also means it’s a night no one should be buying up to any of the other big name point guards. Hence, I think John Wall is a great call in GPP tonight. The Hawks are particularly bad at containing point guards and have been extremely bad over their last 10 games. In those 10 contests they are giving up an average of 53.8 fantasy points per game, which is good for 2^nd worst over that stretch. Wall should easily be able to keep their bad streak going tonight.

Nicolas Batum ($7,000) – He’s not a head-turner or a highlight real player, but Nic Batum gets the job done 100% of the time. He has also quietly been a great fantasy player, averaging 32.44 fantasy points in the 65 games he’s played in this year. Tonight, the Hornets will be in Orlando to take on the Magic, who haven’t been great against the shooting guard position this year. Expect Batum to get you his usual 30 FP, but also bring huge upside for 40+ as well, which we’ve seen him do multiple times this year.

Robert Covington ($7,400) – Covington has kind of been the man in Philadelphia (along with Saric) since the Sixers decided to make a ton of moves around the trade deadline. He’s consistently getting 30 fantasy points a game and has gotten extremely close to 50 on many occasions. For a guy priced at $7,400 that’s a huge positive in tournament games. The 76ers will be facing OKC tonight, a team that is middle-of-the-road when it comes to stopping small forwards. Covington should do great tonight in what I think may end up being a close game.

Enes Kanter ($5,500) – Kanter is kind of a risky play considering he has only seen 20+ minutes once in his last 5 games. However, that 20+ performance did come in his last game on Monday, in which he put up 27 fantasy points in 25 minutes of action. Coming off his injury, he’s seen a decrease in minutes. However, considering OKC will be facing Philadelphia tonight I don’t think Billy Donovan will tiptoe around his minutes since Kanter will have a matchup he can exploit. He should be able to flirt with 30+ FP off the bench for Oklahoma City tonight.

Myles Turner ($6,200) – Turner is coming off a really solid game against a Utah squad that should have given him fits. Watching him play against them I was really impressed and am eager to see what he can do tonight against a Boston team that should be a much easier matchup. The Celtics are giving up over 50 fantasy points a game to the center position over their last 10 games, which is 11^th worst in the league. Turner should be pretty evenly matched as he goes up against Al Horford tonight, and it should be fun to watch them battle down low. I expect him to get around 30 fantasy points, but he does carry the potential for a little more.

Cash Plays

Tyler Ulis ($6,400) – Ulis has scored at least 34 fantasy points in his last 3 games and is averaging 16.3 points and 10.6 assists in those contests. He’s also filling the stat sheet with steals and rebounds. Moral of the story, he’s playing like an elite point guard but still has his price down around 6k. He’s also getting all the minutes he can possibly handle, seeing 40+ a game since the Suns decided to bench Bledsoe. I will personally be taking advantage of his recent production and I expect many to do the same. He’ll be facing a Heat team that has decent numbers this season when it comes to guarding point guards, though they have been giving up over 48 fantasy points a game to the position in their last 10 contests.

Josh Richardson ($4,600) – Dion Waiters has already been ruled out tonight with an ankle injury. While Richardson has filled in for him he’s been seeing 30+ minutes of court time, and the same should occur tonight as the Heat take on the Suns at AmericanAirlines Arena. At $4,600 he’s definitely a viable cash game option considering his usage, and I expect many to plug him in as one of their shooting guards tonight.

Jimmy Butler ($8,900) – Jimmy Butler has produced 2 straight 45+ fantasy point performances, though he’s still priced under 9k. With the Wade injury Butler has been forced to run even more of the offense, and at only $8,900 I don’t think his price is anywhere near the kind of production he should have tonight against the Raptors. Toronto isn’t awful against the small forward position, but with Jimmy Butler’s usage I fully expect him to drop the 45 fantasy points we need for him to reach value.

James Johnson ($6,400) – I’m not really a fan of the power forward position tonight. Though there are plenty of options, I think I’m going to end up getting James Johnson of the Miami Heat into my lineup again. I gave him a start 2 days ago against the Portland Trail Blazers and he didn’t disappoint, putting up 47.9 fantasy points in 31 minutes of action. Tonight, he’ll be facing another team that is awful at containing the power forward position: the Phoenix Suns. He probably won’t put up the same numbers, but he should be able to hit a little over 30 and reach value for your lineup. He should also have a decent ownership, making him a great call in cash games.

Jusuf Nukic ($6,700) – I’m not entirely sure who I’m going to have as my cash game center yet, so I’m just going to write about one of the most reliable guys in Jusuf Nurkic. The Bosnian Beast has only had one bad performance as a Portland Trail Blazer, which was a 2 point, 8 rebound effort against the Pelicans last week. However, he has turned in 11 performances of 30+ fantasy points since he became a Trail Blazer. He’s extremely consistent and produces at a rate that, in my opinion, should have him priced over 7k. Since he’s not, I have him in my lineup frequently and I am likely to do the same again tonight. He’ll be facing a Milwaukee defense that has been awful at containing centers all season, especially over their last 5 in which they’ve given up 56.2 fantasy points a game to the position.

GPP Plays

 Cory Joseph ($5,000) – Cory Joseph has been producing a little more of late, so he actually may be on people’s radars tonight. However, with so many other options I think he will fall out of cash game consideration into more of a tournament pick, which is great news considering he’s only $5,000 and has a matchup tonight against a weak Chicago team. Point guards have been tearing the Bulls up of late, as Chicago is giving up an average of 55.5 fantasy points a game to PG’s over their last 10. I think it’s possible for Joseph to have a great night tonight and I am going to strongly consider starting him in my GPP line.

Seth Curry ($5,300) – Curry has been awful lately, posting 11 fantasy points or less in 4 of his last 5 games. However, his price has come down a thousand dollars and he’ll get a matchup against his brother tonight in Dallas, so I think it’s one of those games where you should at least consider the younger Curry for excitement purposes. Statistics wise, the Warriors aren’t great at containing shooting guards, so Seth should be able to score a bit tonight at American Airlines Center.

Matt Barnes ($4,200) – Matt Barnes is so unspectacular that I hardly ever see him in anyone’s lineup since he joined the Warriors. However, tonight Andre Iguodala will have to sit due to a strained left hip and its only logical Barnes will be taking up a lot of those minutes. McCaw will probably draw the start, but expect Barnes to see at least 25 minutes of action and be a great play for his small price tag.

Serge Ibaka ($5,700) – I can’t think of a logical reason as to why he would be owned, so tonight I will probably be looking to get Serge Ibaka into my GPP lineups. He’s still seeing the 30 minutes of court time he was getting with the Magic, but just hasn’t been doing too much with it as a member of the Toronto Raptors. He’ll be facing a Bulls team that are in the bottom half of the league over their last 10 games in total fantasy points given up to power forwards. Considering he doesn’t even need 30 to reach value, but also carries 40+ point fantasy potential, I really like him tonight at home.

Pau Gasol ($5,900) – Since moving to the bench Gasol has actually been putting up better numbers and is just playing better overall for Popovich and the Spurs. When he faced off with Minnesota earlier this month he put up 32.1 fantasy points in 30 minutes of action, and I think he has the potential for the same kind of success tonight against them. I’d say out of all the GPP plays he’s actually one of the riskiest considering he’s still a bit pricey for a bench player, so make sure to use him at your own risk. However, I do think he has some solid upside tonight at the Target Center.

Cash Plays

Russell Westbrook ($13,400) – Though Harden has a great matchup tonight against Denver I think I’m more likely to fade him and go with Russell Westbrook against the Warriors in cash games. Russell has played very well in the 3 games against Golden State this year, and it’s obvious the Thunder will rely on him heavily to keep them in this game again. He should rack up an insane amount of fantasy points and is the star I’m looking to get in cash games tonight.

Will Barton ($5,800) – With Gallinari and Chandler both out again it will be another night in which Will Barton is heavily owned. He’s coming off a sub-par performance against the same Rockets team he’ll get to face tonight, but his price has also been lowered to accommodate that. It will be yet another high scoring game, so there will be plenty of fantasy points up for grabs. Barton should reach value with ease so make sure to get him into your cash game lineups.

Joe Johnson ($3,900) – I want to wait for the Jazz’s injury report to come out before I make any decisions as to whether or not I want any Utah guys in my lineup, though I think Joe Johnson should end up being a great cash game start. Both Rodney Hood and Derrick Favors are questionable tonight against Indiana and if one or both of them sits Joe Johnson’s usage goes through the roof, much like it has the past couple games. Keep an eye on Favor’s more, though, because if he’s out Johnson will get another start. The Jazz will be facing an Indiana team that have struggled to contain small forwards all season, especially over their last 5 games in which they’ve given up an average of 45.7 FP a game to the position.

Ersan Ilyasova ($4,500) – Paul Millsap has been ruled out with a knee injury for the Hawks matchup with the Hornets tonight. Filling in for Millsap on Saturday Ersan did very well, putting up 34.3 fantasy points in 27 minutes of action. I expect him to get the same kind of usage tonight and he has a great matchup against Charlotte, a team that has given up the 6^th most fantasy points to power forwards this season (45.6) and the 3^rd most over their last 5 games (52.6).

Nikola Vucevic ($8,000) – I think a lot of people are going to think Vucevic is over-priced tonight at 8k, but with a matchup against the 76ers I don’t see how he doesn’t get at least 40 fantasy points considering he’s on the court for about 30 minutes every game. The Sixers have given up the most fantasy points to centers this season and have been absolutely atrocious against the big man in their last 10 games, giving up an average of 63.4 fanduel points a game to the position during that stretch. At $8,000 I personally think Vucevic is under-priced for what he should be able to do tonight and am going to do everything I can to get him into my lineup.

(Note: Vucevic has a “game time decision” stamp next to his name, so make sure he’s active before locking him in. If he sits, I highly recommend starting Bismack Biyombo ($4,300) in cash games).

GPP Plays

Jeff Teague ($6,600) – Jeff Teague’s price is down from what I think it should be at, since I generally consider him to be more of a 7k and up kind of player. He hasn’t been too spectacular of late and he has a matchup tonight against the Jazz, two things that I believe will draw people away from him. However, if Utah is bad at containing a position it’s the point guard. The Jazz have given up 49.3 fantasy points a game to PG’s over their last 5 games, which is good for 10^th worst in the league. With what I expect to be a low ownership I think Teague is a great call in GPP games tonight.

Lou Williams ($5,500) – Williams will get to face the Rockets again tonight for the 2^nd time in 3 days. With two fast paced teams going at it I expected Williams to have a better game than the 19.7 fantasy point effort he turned in on Saturday. However, I think that is if floor tonight and his ceiling is much larger against a bad defensive team like the Nuggets. At $5,500 he only needs about 27 to reach value and I think he has a great shot of doing that tonight at the Toyota Center.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist ($5,100) – Kidd-Gilchrist will be facing the Hawks tonight, one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to guarding the small forward position. They give up just over 45 FP a game to small forwards and he really only needs half of that to reach value tonight. He should be able to fill up the stat sheet so make sure to get him into your GPP lineups.

Ryan Anderson ($4,300) – I don’t necessarily love any power forwards in tournaments tonight, so I’m going to go with a guy that has serious upside and low ownership consistently: Ryan Anderson. He’s ridiculously cheap now that he’s strung together 3 straight bad games, but he also has the upside for 40+, which at this price makes him a great GPP play. His main job is to score, which is great news considering the Nuggets/Rockets game should be a high scoring affair.

Al Horford ($6,600) – It looks like another night where I pick on Washington’s frontcourt because I’m going to go with Al Horford of the Boston Celtics as my GPP center. Washington has continued to be awful against the big man and at $6,600 Horford should easily be able to score 30+ fantasy points and reach value, though he has the potential for even more. The Wizards are giving up close to 60 fantasy points a game to centers and I’m looking forward to watching Horford run all over their defense tonight.

Cash Plays

Ricky Rubio ($7,500) – Ricky Rubio has been absolutely tearing the league up, posting over 30 fantasy points in 14 of his last 15 games. Considering most player’s prices are ridiculously high tonight because of the small slate, I think most will jump all over Rubio’s small price tag. He only needs a little over 35 to reach value and will be facing a Pelicans team that have given up the 3^rd most fantasy points to point guards this season (51.6).

Josh Richardson ($4,100) – With Dion Waiters sidelined tonight I’m going to be looking to target Josh Richardson in cash games. He’s only priced at $4,100 and has proved to us earlier in the year that when given court time he can really produce. I’m probably going to get him in my lineup tonight only because he’s a lock for another 30 minutes, which he should easily be able to score 20 fantasy points in.

Paul George ($8,400) – I like Paul George tonight because he’s seems reasonably priced over the other small forward options above him. He doesn’t have the greatest matchup as he goes up against a tough Raptors squad, but he has been tearing it up lately, posting 40+ fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games. I think his recent production is enough for people to plug him in tonight and, therefore, he is a viable cash game option.

Anthony Davis ($11,400) – I don’t really love the options at power forward so it may be a spot where I look to reach up tonight, and Anthony Davis has a decent matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Davis hasn’t really reached value over his last few games, though he has scored 48 in his last 2, and I’m not going to get mad at a star play for only getting me 45-50 fantasy points. His minutes will be there and I think he’ll be eager to go up against fellow Kentucky Wildcat Karl-Anthony Towns.

Jusuf Nurkic ($6,300) – Nurkic had one bad game in between his long stretch of consistent fantasy performances. For me, that one bad game doesn’t draw me away from him considering he did have a tough matchup against both DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis. Tonight, though, he gets a much better matchup against the Miami Heat. Though Hassan Whiteside is a big body inside, the Heat actually give up about 48 fantasy points to opposing centers per game, which is in the bottom half of the league. The Blazers are going to need his physicality inside against Whiteside and I think Nurkic should easily be able to score, rebound, and reach value tonight.

GPP Plays

Darren Collison ($5,700) – I like both of the Kings point guards tonight against a Spurs team that has actually been giving up a ton of fantasy points to point guards in their last 5 games (52.7). Between the two, however, I’m going to have to go with Collison because he has shown he has 40+ point fantasy upside on more occasions. The matchup with San Antonio should be enough to draw enough people away from him, making him a great tournament choice tonight.

Buddy Hield ($4,400) – I’m going to keep my GPP picks going with another Kings player in Buddy Hield. Hield has worked himself into Sacramento’s starting lineup and has had some great performances, though he’s also disappointed a few times. Tonight, however, Tyreke Evans is listed as questionable and may not be able to go again, opening the door for Hield to see another 30 minute game. He didn’t do much with it last night against OKC, but I think the story will be different tonight against a Spurs team that gives up 45+ fantasy points to shooting guards a game.

Solomon Hill ($4,100) – Hill went off on Friday for an insane 49.7 fantasy points in 38 minutes of action. This is obviously an outlier from his other performances, but he actually does see that many minutes frequently. I think the same is true for tonight’s matchup with the Timberwolves, and I also think he’ll be eager to prove the game wasn’t a fluke. He won’t reach those same totals tonight, but he should have the confidence to throw up some extra shots. At only $4,100 he’s not that risky of a play, but he brings some serious upside.

Skal Labissiere ($4,200) – Labissiere is another guy priced down around 4k that I’m choosing because of one big game he had last week, a 46.2 fantasy point outing against the Phoenix Suns. The matchup us much tougher tonight against the Spurs, but he is seeing some extra court time and doing a lot with it. Since he provided that huge upside in the game last Tuesday I’m going to give him the nod as my GPP power forward tonight.

Jonas Valanciunas ($5,400) – Valanciunas generally only sees 25 minutes a game, if that. This makes him a slightly risky play in cash games even though you know he can score and rebound. In tournaments, however, he is generally a great play for the same reasons, along with the fact that he’s shown he has 40+ point fantasy upside. He’ll be facing the Pacers tonight, a team that has been giving up an average of 57.7 fantasy points a game to centers over their last 5. Valanciunas should be able to feast.

1. Cash Plays

Jamal Murray ($4,400) – We’ve seen Murray get more minutes over the last 3 games, averaging 25 over his last 3. Though he’s still not starting, his bench production is hard to pass up given his price and his matchup. The Denver/Houston game will be ridiculously high scoring and Murray could reach value based off the points he scores in the game alone, not to mention the other stats he’ll fill the box score with. He only needs 22 to reach value and, given that he’s basically a lock for 25+ minutes now, I don’t see him having any trouble doing that.

James Harden ($11,800) – Tonight the Rockets/Nuggets game has a 240 o/u, which is the highest of the season. Basically, it would be a bad move to fade Harden given that he ‘s a lock for 60+ fantasy points. Denver is giving up the 2^nd most fantasy points to both the point guard and shooting guard positions, along with giving up close to 111 point per game. There will be so many chances for Harden to get points tonight and he should have absolutely no issue getting 60-70 fantasy points and reach value for you cash game lineup.

Joe Johnson ($3,900) – Johnson has been seeing close to 30 minutes a game with Rodney Hood and Derrick Favors sidelined, which will be the case yet again tonight as the Jazz take on the Bulls in Chicago. At $3,900 Johnson is a safe cash game pick against a Chicago team that is in the bottom half of the league in total fantasy points given up to the small forward position (41.7 a game). Make sure to get the veteran into your lineups.

Nikola Jokic ($10,700) – Jokic is another guy that should greatly benefit from the large o/u of the Rockets/Nuggets game. With such a high scoring game there will be plenty of opportunites for Jokic to showcase his skills. Faried is back in the Nuggets rotation, but even last game when he saw some minutes it didn’t take away from the court time Jokic generally sees. He’s a lock for another 30+ minutes tonight against a tough Houston team, though they do struggle defensively, giving up the 4^th most fantasy points (50.1 a game) to opposing centers (I know Jokic is a power forward but he should be starting at center tonight).

Mason Plumlee ($6,000) – Mason Plumlee is going to round out our stack of Denver players in our cash game lineup. For the same reason as his teammates, Plumlee should have no trouble scoring and grabbing boards tonight given how fast paced the game should be. Also, he will be getting plenty of minutes as he switches between the 4 and 5 positions for the Nuggets. As previously noted, the Rockets are awful against centers. At $6,000 he only needs 30 fantasy points to reach value, which the Rockets are basically going to give him with how bad their defense has been.

GPP Plays

George Hill ($6,000) – George Hill is so inconsistent that he’s a GPP play just about every night. The fact that he sees 30+ minutes just about every game and is only $6,000 is what makes him enticing, in my opinion. He only needs 30 to reach value but brings 40+ point fantasy upside anytime he takes the court. With a matchup against a Bulls team that is giving up by far the most fantasy points per game over their last 5 I don’t see him having any trouble reaching value. I strongly recommend considering Hill in GPP games.

Bradley Beal ($8,500) – Beal is extremely over-priced and hasn’t hit value in his last 4 games after an amazing performance against the Kings at Golden 1 Center. He’s still seeing well over 30 minutes a game of late, but just hasn’t been able to do much with it. Because he has been less than spectacular I expect many to pass on him tonight, which is great news considering he’ll be facing a Hornet’s team that is giving up the 4^th most fantasy points to shooting guards over their last 5 games. Beal should actually be able to come close to his price tag tonight and still has the same upside he showcased against the Kings only 5 games ago.

Jimmy Butler ($8,700) – With so much value at the small forward position I don’t expect to many people to be reaching up for a high priced guy, let alone Jimmy Butler who has an awful matchup against a Utah Jazz team that is giving up the least fantasy points to the position. However, at under 9k I still really like Butler due to Wade’s recent season-ending injury, which has put the majority of the scoring load on Jimmy Butler. I don’t really expect his price to be this low for the rest of the season so I recommend taking advantage of the fact that he only needs a little over 40 to reach value.

Blake Griffin ($8,600) – I like Griffin for a lot of the same reasons I like Butler. His price is way down due to lack of recent production and he doesn’t have a good matchup tonight against a Cleveland Cavaliers team that is great at stopping power forwards. However, at $8,600 I think it’s safe to roll with a guy like Griffin who has serious 60+ fantasy point upside when he can get things going. The Clippers are going to need him to help keep them in the game and I think he’s a great call in tournaments tonight because of that.

Cody Zeller ($5,000) – I’m going to keep picking on the Washington Wizards and go with another center who will be playing against them tonight as my GPP pick, Cody Zeller. Lopez was able to go off for 40+ last night against them, keeping Washington’s bad streak against big men going. They’re usually pretty good at defending the center position, but have been exceptionally bad over their last 5 games, giving up an average of 54.7 a game to the position. For a guy that only needs 25 to reach value I think Zeller bring serious upside against such a lackluster defense and can easily keep Washington’s bad streak going. I would strongly consider Zeller in your GPP lineups.
